Beginner's Guide (launch-week edition)
Ten steps, from the spawn roof to floor 99. In order. Do not skip.
- 1
Do the tutorial, but skip the fishing pole
The pole costs 30 minutes of your life for a Breadfish. Take it at Lv 10 when the dock unlocks — the tutorial version fishes slower for lore reasons.
- 2
Pick Warrior or Cleric if unsure
Both are party-locked invites forever. Mage if you like big screens of numbers, Rogue if you hate having HP.
- 3
Normal Gloom Hollow until weapon +5
Enhance dust drops here; +4/+5 cannot fail. This is the last time the game is this nice to you.
- 4
Read the day/night clock (top-right)
When the moon icon pulses, you have ~60s before night. Bank your Soulmotes BEFORE nightfall — dying at night drops half of what you carry.
- 5
Buy a torch. Then buy two.
Night without light is a horror game you did not purchase. Lantern Thief WILL take the first one. This is a tax.
- 6
Join a guild before Chapter 3
The +3% XP is nice; the real perk is someone answering "which boss is the paintings one" at 1 AM.
- 7
Sunken Chapel Normal for the Robe
Rare-tier chest, carries you to Hard content. Bring a Cleric; the water phase eats solo melee.
- 8
Do the night daily ONCE safely
Kill 10 Wisps near town lights. Double motes, low risk. Then decide if you are a night person. (You will be.)
- 9
Hard dungeons before touching Hell
Hell assumes rare gear ×2 and a healer who has forgiven you. Farm Ember set, learn the cart timing, THEN suffer properly.
- 10
The Gallery is not early content
Yes it is a night-only hidden dungeon with a fancy hat. It is also a Lv 30 Hell raid. The paintings will teleport you and your confidence.
"Carry me senpai" FAQ
Yes — F2P, cosmetics in the shop, gear is earned in-game. The real price is your sleep schedule during night cycles.
— reply from an editor with bags under eyes
Story and Normals yes, though Chapel water is rude solo. Hard/Hell are party-tuned. Long Stair 99 duo clears exist and they are speedrun-flavored legends.
— reply from [SoloTillIDie], floor 71 and counting
Night death drops half your CARRIED motes. The bank keeps them. The game told you in a tooltip during the intro; nobody reads tooltips, so now this FAQ exists.
— reply from wiki staff, sighing
"The one you will actually log into." — said every veteran, dodging. Real answer: damage charts say Rogue ceiling, party demand says Cleric, happiness says whatever your friend plays.
— reply from a guild leader, definitely biased
[世界] new player finished the guide, quick question: which key is jump again
[世界] ...spacebar. Welcome aboard.
Written during launch week (v0.9.x Early Access). Numbers WILL drift with patches; the habits (bank your motes, respect the night, love your Cleric) will outlive us all.
